The newly planned two-storey flyover is going to be a boon for the residents of Chinchwad, Kalewadi, Thergaon and Hinjewadi. Especially, with the faster and easier access from Pimpri Chinchwad to Hinjewadi and the vice-versa, people working in the IT parks in Hinjewadi are going to be benefitted to the fullest. The city’s second multi-storied flyover, it is now under construction by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).

The need of a fly over in this particular section has always been felt and especially, with the long line ups of vehicles stuck fast on the Chinchwad-Hinjewadi Road, the need was discerned yet more. At the same time, though the two parallel flyovers on the Sangvi-Kiwale BRT road were already built by the PCMC and the private vehicles could cross the intersection of Dange Chowk without stopping at the signal, still the tardy need for an extra flyover connecting Pimpri Chinchwad and Hinjewadi has made the corporation consider this call on a serious note and start executing the plan at the earliest.

The fact that the cars could hardly move fast over the two-lane flyover at Chapekar-chawk had initiated the need for a four-lane one which is expected to be executed soon. Also, according to a number of surveys done in the recent time, people using Chinchwad-Hinjewadi road are found more in number than that of those using the Sangvi-Kiwale BRT road and this is the reason why people were even more fidgety and edgy for the construction of this four-lane bridge.

Moreover, there were a number of infringements on the service road and it was one of the main reasons why the need for a flyover was felt effectively, for it was expected that a construction of a new bridge will remove congestion quite efficiently.

However, PCMC is yet to conduct a survey at the Chowk and the final verdict as to whether a two lane flyover or a one with four-lanes will be decided only after the appraisal.
