With the Central Railway’s Pune division coming with the decision to initiate the work on Hadapsar rail terminal very soon, it has spread a gush of relief to the entire city. According to a number of reports, the work on the same will start just in a couple of months, with an expectation to be finished in a year. An approximation of Rs. 23.94 crore has been estimated for its execution and with the rail way board sanctioning the proposal; it has again spread a lot of hopes to all the citizens who were nearly frustrated due to the unbearable traffic on board.
Apart from being a major connecting hub, the terminal will be having two platforms and over bridges along with a number of passenger amenities. All the required plans and drawings have already been primed up and it’s expected that the project will be completed as per the scheme. The fact that Pune station is very congested makes it difficult for the additional trains to make their departure and arrival. At a distance of 6 km, an added terminal can actually improve the railway services of Pune to a significant extent. Although, there can be a number of issues for land acquisition, but a huge acre of railway land has been impinged upon which has wiped away this possibility to a great extent.
It will not only give a steady make over to the city, but will also bring in a balance to the transportation system. With this great initiative, the crowd of Pune station is expected to get segregated uniformly, providing the city with the much-awaited composure. According to a number of studies, on an average of more or less one lakh passengers use Pune Railway Station every day and a new stop at Hadapsar will surely reduce the huge traffic to a significant extent.
Moreover, being 2nd largest city in Maharashtra, Pune, with a single railway junction, can never be expected to offer a commute system with no glitches in it. The go-getting project of Hadapsar rail terminal will help the entire city go smoothly, bringing in a stability without any hiccups.
